Ima's blog about highest paid actresses got me thinking. Those women get paid a lot not because they're the most talented, but because they've got the biggest box office draw.
So, it made me wonder: are there any actors, actresses, diretors, screenwriters, etc. who you are loyal to? For example, I'm sure Ima will see EVERY movie featuring Brad or Angie (correct me if I'm wrong, Ima), and I'd bet that Deege is first in line to see everything with Natalie Portman (right, DWG?). Another example: my boyfriend is obsessed with anything that Clint Eastwood has been involved with.
So, do you guys have anyone you're completely loyal to? Will you go see every Will Ferrell movie, or anything that Sofia Coppola directed?
I personally am not too loyal to performers, but there's a certain group of actors whose movies I usually try to see: Adrien Brody, Paul Rudd, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Dustin Hoffman, Julianne Moore and Ewan McGregor to name a few.
But I'm much more loyal to directors and screenwriters. A great actor can be in a crappy movie and it's still a crappy movie (for example, although I lurve William H. Macy, wild horses couldn't have dragged me to see Wild Hogs. But if a movie has a good script and is directed well, I don't care if none of my favorite actors are in it.
For the creative side, I'm very loyal to anything that Wes Anderson writes or directs, as well as Quentin Tarantino, PT Anderson, and a few others. I'm not saying that I'm guaranteed to LIKE everything they're involved in, but I'll definitely check them out.
So, who are y'allz loyal to?
Promod
Comme des Garcons
Stella McCartney
some actresses/actors repel me and the movie has to look really great so I'll go see it. But I will definitely go see anything made by Steven Spielberg. On TV if it is a show produced by Mark Burnett or David Bruckheimer, I'll mos def give it a chance.

PowerGirl possesses great strength, speed, invulnerability, the ability to fly, and AWESOME BOOBS!
1Jackson will see anything by JJ Abrams, Joss Whedon, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, or anything that's based on comic book series that didn't have a chick hero. Elektra and Cat Woman were such turkeys that he's sworn off chick heroes.
2I don't really have any loyalties. If it looks good, I'll see it. Although after seeing Hot Fuzz I might have to see anything they do in the future.
3I'm a complete sucker for anything with Drew Barrymore. And the main reason I saw 'Lucky Number Slevin' was because Josh Hartnett was walking around in a towel all through the trailer (I did like it though). I also like a lot of Liv Tyler films, but I don't know if that's Liv or just the films.
4Depends on the film, really. Great actors and directors AND screenwriters all have some turkeys on their resumes, but I might be more likely to pay to see something with known talent behind it before I would spend money to see something totally new. Going to the movies is so expensive!
5I actually missed The Good Shepard. So not every Brad and Angie movie..but I try.
I am a sucker for Johnny Depp movies.
For directors I try to make it to see Wes Anderson, Woody Allen(don't ask me why..I cannot tell you.. I like the little creepy perv's movies), Sofia Coppola, Ang Lee and Oliver Stone (still bitter about Alexander) but he had an incredible string back in the day.. Platoon, Wall Street. Talk Radio (one of my all time favorite movies..I love Eric Bogosians voice and would kill to see Leiv Schrieber do the play), Born on the 4th of July, The Doors, JFK and Natural Born Killers.. so I still have hope and will give his movies a priority on the must see list.

Electra Woman and Dyna Girl!
ill see any quentin tarantino movie that comes out.
7im always in line for anything with Adrien Brody, Ryan Gosling, Anthony Hopkins, Jack Nicholson, Edward Norton, Ewan Macgregor and Giovanni Ribisi. I am definitely more loyal to the male actors than the females!
OOOOOOOOOOOH and of course JOHNNY DEPP! sorry thats usually a no-brainer for me.
8I am a sucker for Johnny Depp & Paul Bettany movies.
)
9And I'll definitely go see anything made by Quentin Tarantino,
Luc Besson and Tim Burton (I love his stop-motion animated films , call me weird/quirky if you want , but somehow, I just love them
It has to have a good story line/plot or I won't go see it.
For theaters, our general thought is that it has to be an action/good graphics movie or a cartoon for the kids. For us adults, something that is better seen in the theater than at home. We'll usually wait and rent anything else on dvd.

12talking about movies... DID ANYBODY SEE MS. POTTER? based on the life of Beatrix Potter, the author of children's books Peter Rabbit, etc. I usually don't like Renee Zellweger because it always looks like she's sucking on lemons imo, but I totally adore Ewan McGregor and the shorts look cute so hubby and I saw it last weekend and it was such a lovely movie? I think even kids would like it because on several scenes the characters -adorable drawings!!!- come to life. It was funny, and sweet, and sad, but all in all just a great lesson about love and working for your dreams.

16Im not 100% loyal to anyone. BUT if I like them, Im more likely to see their film.
17I guess I am, sometimes.
I try and see everything Johnny Depp is in, and I've never been disappointed. That said, I didn't NEED a remake of Willie Wonka. Gene Wilder will always be Wonka to me, even though I love Johnny.

If the guy is hot enough... then yeah, I would go. I'm a sucker for a good looking guy, but there aren't many that I appreciate.
19I'm not loyal to any performers, really. On the flip side there are actors I would never go to see (Lindsay for instance)
